Paul was in Athens and he went and spoke to the Jews there first, like he always did, about Jesus. They're response to what he was saying was to get abusive.
That's when I read verse 6 and was hit my the power of what Paul says to them...
"Your blood be on your own heads! I am clear of my responsibility. From now on I will go to the Gentiles." (NIV)
Paul was basically saying, "I've tried and done all that I could to show and tell you the truth. I've fulfilled my responsibility before God in trying to help you. It's now on you!"
That got me thinking...
- Can I say, I'm "clear of my responsibility" to the people and area God has called me to?
- Have I done everything I can to show and tell them the truth about who Jesus is and what He's done?
That means there's more for me to SHOW, TELL and DO!
I'm going to ask myself (and ask God) this question more...
What more can I do to fulfill the responsibility I have to the people and area God has called me to?
